This song is stuck in mahh heaaaad :]

“I don’t need a reason to be a misfit

Whatever the reason, how far I go
When it’s my time then I will let you know

It don’t take a genius to be an idiot
It don’t take a jesus to save my soul
Well it’s my time and it’s my time to go

Pedestrian is what I am
an understated samaritan

Where I go, I go alone
As long as I am taking my time

I don’t know the answer to be specific
I listened to reason, the reason is true
I did my time, well, now it’s time to go”

This album saved my life today.
Okay, well maybe it didn’t literally save my life. But it definitely helped me get through the day.
This album: Insomniac by Green Day, released in 1995.
Powerful album. Incredibly epic.
You know when you’re so sick of stupid shit, places, things, instances, and people and you kind of just need to scream about it and get it out of your system?
That is exactly what happened in my car on my ride home from work.
If you haven’t listened to this album or any of the songs from it, I highly suggest you find it SOMEWHERE and get it in your head.
These epic, power-chord-filled songs comforted me and made my life a little more bearable.
All the songs on the album I could just relate to in some way or any other.
Also, a theme on the album is panic and anxiety (which both guitarist/frontman/lyricist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt are said to have experienced) and it just felt so relatable with this whole anxiety breathing thing that’s been going on with me lately.
Another theme is kind of like a “fuck the world” philosophy, which I just can’t help thinking sometimes.  It also makes me self-reflect a lot on who I am and what’s going on in my life.
But all good music should make you do that.
So here’s a shout-out to Green Day: Thanks. :]
